DeatschWerks Sponsors Street Car Takeover Oklahoma City

Thursday, May 16, 2019 - 1:49pm

DeatschWerks just completed our first ever city sponsorship with Street Car Takeover right here in Oklahoma City. We could not have been more excited or proud of the opportunity to work alongside the Street Car Takeover team both at the Friday dyno night, and Saturday at Thunder Valley Raceway Park.

Street Car Takeover — the premier national streetcar lifestyle event filled with drag racing, roll racing, night meets, and car shows; hosted hundreds of people Friday night. The DW booth drew tons of visitors who were checking out Mark Hutchison’s, DW Sr. Marketing Coordinator, LS swapped BMW (fondly called the GMW or BM-Trouble You), the Dig Only Evo, Sam Barnett’s 1967 Chevrolet Nova, and Chance Wynn's ProCharged 2018 Mustang. We were in good company, the Twin Peaks and surrounding parking lots were packed with import cars, muscle cars, trucks, and exotics.

While Saturday brought rain, the Street Car Takeover event sponsored by DeatschWerks drew over 200 racers, and 3,000 spectators out to Thunder Valley Raceway Park for roll racing, drag racing, and the car show. The DW Booth saw non-stop traffic all day with racers and spectators stopping by to learn about DW’s high-performance fueling products, to grab a free pair of DW sunglasses, and to sign up for the DW injector giveaway. Racing continued late into the evening with some of our own DW employees running their cars in test and tune and in several of the classes. We saw some blisteringly fast times, and the classes were stacked with close competition that made for a great day of racing. Congratulations to the winners!

Special thanks to everyone who came out Friday and Saturday night, Street Car Takeover, Thunder Valley Raceway Park, and Twin Peaks for the hospitality and for hosting one of the best racing events to make its way through the OKC area.
